Trevor graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Degree in Kinesiology and Applied Health in 2006. He continued his education at the University of Manitoba, where he completed his Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2008. Trevor has been registered with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists since 2008.
Over the past 14 years, Trevor has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the public and private sectors. His work experiences spans the continuum of care, including rural and urban facilities and communities, acute care, in-home patient care, long-term care facilities, community-based treatment facilities, and specialized inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs.
Trevor had the privilege of working with patients of all ages and settings, which allowed his role to support patients on the spectrum of care, from health promotion to palliative/end-of-life care. As a subject matter expert, he chaired a Power Mobility Device Committee, Cognitive Capacity Committee, and Occupational Therapy Committee. His expertise allowed him to lead education sessions for professionals and colleagues focused on injury prevention and safe practices within the workplace. He worked with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Regina Public Schools, and the University of Regina to provide education sessions on assessments and career development presentations. Trevor was also responsible for delivering training to nurses, therapists and families on wellness, safety, and patient/object handling techniques.
Trevor is certified in First Aid CPR-C & AED, Mental Health First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Interventions (CPI), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), Cognitive Demands Analysis (CDA), Transfers/Lifts/Repositioning client and object Trainer (TLR), BrainFX 360 and Saebo Fitting and Treatment. He has attended workshops, conferences and seminars regarding various Occupational Therapy assessments and treatment, cognitive assessments, standardized and non-standardized assessments, complex rehabilitation wheelchair seating, manual wheelchair training, power mobility, return to work planning, acquired brain injury intervention, mental health, addictions, and complex disabilities case management.
